Black Walnut - Juglans nigra Walnut Family (Juglandaceae)
Black walnut is a common tree throughout Kentucky.1
The outer covering on the fruit is lemon scented and the nut is edible.1
The tree produces an open, rounded crown.1
Leaves are compound having approximately16 leaflets with fine teeth along the margin.1
