Name of Position: Outreach Team Lead

Organization Unit: Outreach Division

General Summary: To create, plan, implement, and evaluate recreational based programming for students at Jennings Creek Elementary School, Moss Middle School, Warren Elementary School, and surrounding areas. To design, implement, and coordinate various special events, community and school-based events, sporting activities, camps, fun day activities, and other recreational programs.

Qualifications: Must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma, 1-2 years of recreational programming or athletic programming experience preferred. Experience working with elementary and middle school aged participants, excellent communication skills, basic computer knowledge, 1-2 years of experience coordinating events, programs, or youth-based activities preferred. Special Work Conditions: Employee will be required to work nights and weekends. The work week will be 40 hours per week. Work will be conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings and in all weather conditions. Employee will be trained as a CDL driver for a school bus and will complete all necessary requirements as discussed in training.

Position Wage: This is a full-time position. The wage will be negotiated at time of hire. Medical, dental, and vision insurance plans are available to all full-time employees after a sixty (60) day probationary period (employee is responsible for paying a percentage of this cost).

Essential Job Functions: Acting as boots on the ground for all recreational programs based at Moss Middle School, Jennings Creek Elementary School, and Warren Elementary School. This will include:

  • Assist with the creation, implementation, organization, coordination, and evaluation of programs.
  • Work with community partners for various events/functions.
  • Work with various schools in gaining knowledge and access to students to figure out areas of interest and create content based on those areas.
  • Assist with all weekly/monthly content planned on school grounds.
  • Work at various school-based functions if invited, such as back to school, fun nights, block parties, etc.
  • Assist with other department programming projects system wide.
  • Responsible for setting up, cleaning up, taking down, organizing, and coordinating all resources for event areas, fields being utilized, etc.
  • Assist with athletic field layouts and maintenance as needed and directed by Administration.
  • Responsible for operating various pieces of equipment, including but not limited to vehicles, buses, gators/UTVs, mobile recreation unit, vans, trailers, light towers, and athletic equipment.
  • Responsible for obtaining CDL (scheduled and paid for by Warren County Public Schools). Once passed, take the bus along pre-planned route to pick up students and take to practices, games, scheduled events, school functions, etc. Must enforce all rules and regulations on said bus as signed by an employee after being trained.
  • Responsible for creating and submitting weekly activity reports to Operations and Outreach Coordinator.
  • Assist with all other projects as assigned by the Operations and Outreach Coordinator or Director of Parks.
